Troubleshooting 2011 BMW 520Li no-start problem

Early this week, my friend Jim brought his 2011 BMW 20Li to my garage because the car engine could not start. Jim told me he did not drive the car often, and it was with 15,500 mile on it only.
When I used Creator C110 BMW scanner to troubleshoot, I did not get any trouble code, and the car could be started smoothly. I went a test drive, and the car ran very well and no warning light on the dashboard came on. However, when I connected the BMW scanner to ISID module, I detected that the current in fuel pump was too high. Then I reprogrammed the car in order to solve the problem.

Jim came to take the car the next day, but called me that the car could not start again two years later.
Again, I used Creator C110 BMW to troubleshoot the vehicle, and found it was the same problem. I asked Jim how often the car stopped. “My 520Li usually came to a halt about 1 to 2 hours of driving. Then I could not restart it after the halt, no matter how hard I tried.”

I suggested Jim to change a new fuel pump, he did, and the problem never came back then.
